Özet

This paper focuses on understanding the influences, impacts and possible mitigating measures of climate change on cash crop production in Rotterdam and Kortberaadt Village on the East Bank Berbice, Guyana. The communities; Rotterdam and Kortberaadt Village located on the East Bank of Berbice were used to carry out this study. Generally, in Guyana and the study communities, cash crop farming provides a basis for employment and provision of food. The research used a survey method incorporating questionnaires to obtain qualitative and quantitative data on influences of climate change on cash crop production in the study communities. The influences of climate change on cash crop production explored were constant weather and agricultural drought, excessive rainfall, increased and decreased temperatures.
